Guided Discovery

A Guided Discovery Lesson is another modification of the directly taught lessons often used in sciences. It is a whole-class lesson where the teacher is controlling and coordinating the learning experience.

In the presentation portion of the lesson, the teacher provides something for students to examine (e.g. a spider or a graph) and guides students to “discover” details through the use of guiding questions and instruction.
